Heat lamination can result at a high temperature, causing the foam sheet to melt on the surface. When two pieces of foam sheets are run through a heat lamination machine at the same time, the hot melted surface can firmly glue them together. Both foam sheets and foam rolls can be laminated with heat.
It is a clever method of bonding foam to foam or other materials. Foam sheet or roll production with PSA adhesive back is highly efficient. Making foam composites requires a critical foam production technique.
The heat lamination process is required for the assembly of polyethylene foam end caps and protective packaging for computers and medical equipment.
At Brackens, we use a hot air system to bond foam together.
